He has some very valid views on immigration. Just two decades ago Britain was a proud nation with its own individuality: things like the imperial measurements which made it that bit different from other European nations. Then along came New Labour and brought in floods of immigrants, about half a million a year. In addition to putting massive strain on the health service, this has caused strain in communities where migrants are regularly given preference over housing. They also take away “British jobs for British people”. So much for a “rich and just” society.
Morrissey is just a typical example of a British person fed up of seeing foreigners being put first all the time.
Interesting choice in Imperial measurements.
Like the dark side of the Star Wars universe, the British empire strived for global domination. Since being conquered themselves by the Normans, they went out and conquered lands and people in the name of England and white supremacy. Taking ownership of those places and resources to build up the wealth of this and other European nations, they kept their possessions in step and time with standardising language, Measurements and extreme psychological and physical violence.
Those subjects of the empire, fought wars loyally and worked unceasingly in the name of king, queen and empire.
The Empire changed its agenda and, more recently in order to maintain it’s ways, its economic might, it’s military power etc. in the light of an aging population. It started to import people to keep the fading imperial force from dying. Those forces behind those imperial measurements, like everything else have their eye on the same prize, once again. This time, the playing fields has become clearer and they updated the rule sheet. Metrics is Europe, US and the global dominators again. The Imperial measurements were an imposition also. The imperial forces are more subtle now. Babel has been busted with this, the internet. They don’t just send Cabot out on an exploratory adventures with royal license to occupy and possess. Now there is a perpetual ‘war on terror’ with shock and awe, followed by lucrative reconstruction contracts.
And the power-mongers train local forces to keep order locally, and continute to oppress ‘ordinary people’ of all hues, from a distance. All in pursuit of their goal.
Meanwhile white supremacy continues to imbue a sense of superiority in some ‘ordinary British people’. They see the problem in black faces doing those jobs that the high-minded Brits did not care to do. In those who came fleeing wars stoked up and sustained by the power-mongers. Those black faces may be obvious targets for blame. Meanwhile the ‘ordinary people’ of all races probably have more in common than those who dream of real global domination, and whip up hatred in division. Divide and conquer, the first law of power, they continue to practice to perfection. This allows a minority to control the masses. This come well before New Labour (But the transition from Labour to New Labour is worth futher study to see how these more subtle controlling methods work in the world where the idea of ‘democracy’ and ‘citizenship’ pervades. Also look at the pretence around DNA consultation. Whatever you think about it, it will happen – human cloning. There’s a certain inevtiablity about it (see Star Wars again – for the role of Clones!). Look at the stoking up of Islamo-phobia and vice versa – which is setting the longer term agenda and stoking up new fears of Other. Now the ‘darkies’ from Jamaica (etc.) are ok.
You and Morrissey are troubled at the wrong minority as the source of your troubles.
Culture is mobile and fragile, and constantly shiftng like the Earth’s tectonic plates. Establised mores are constantly re-configured with new laws and new ideas, new beliefs, and as science, technology and populations move. These ideas are not new ideas. Imperial Measures or Metric is about standardisation. Migrants have always adapted to and added new flavours to the cultures they have found themselves living amongst. Standardisation is not their agenda. They would hold on to their own cultures and their countries too, if they were not economically and militarily evicted. Most people, lke you, are scared of losing the ideas and beliefs and cultural values they know. Whether Celts, Gauls, Jutes, Saxons, Normans, or whoever.

It’s true there are plenty issues that the world and this country has to deal with. This country has absorbed many cultures over time of which British culture is the result. And yes there are clearly challenges with migration and cultural difference in the present and near future. So whether we trundle into self-destruction or human transformation will depend on how each of us spend this present moment.

This blog isn’t about mindlessly celebrating multiculuralism, it is questioning it as well. It’s a word that gets used a lot and I don’t think anyone really knows what it means. Please take another look at this blog. Ok sure you will get offended by our digs at Nick Griffin and the BNP, but if you actually read the rest of the posts I’m sure you’ll see that it isn’t anti-white, anti-British or pro-black, pro-Muslim. It is simply trying to explore some issues from a different angle.
Besides our blatent digs at racism in the guise of Cheyrl Tweedy and the BNP, there is nothing anti-white about what we say. We are anti-racist yes, but not anti-white.
I think what you mean by multiculuralism and what I mean, (or at least what I think I mean), may be widely different. This country has ALWAYS been multicultural, but it is only now in the past 6o years it has become more visable, (though there have been black people in England for the past 400 years and more, but that is another conversation).
This is a sincere question – is it only visible multiculuralism you have a problem with, or do you also have a problem with the Polish?

I’m not in actual fact criticising you, but it’s the way you have a go at Nick Griffin which really angers me. OK, he’s aggressive, but that is what gets things done. We need an aggressive person to get some pride back into this country. I was told by the party: “We are just here to save Britain and are the only party to put British people first.” Labour and the Tories won’t bring back national service or stop family break-up – we’ve had many an empty promise from them. I don’t mind a few people from different cultures – but they’re flooding in at a rate of over half a million EVERY YEAR and it’s totally changing the face of our society. They flock here because they know when they arrive they’ll get put first in the queue for housing before British people and will get the full range of tax-funded benefits. I don’t want to be an ethnic minority in my own country in thirty years’ time!

The enemies of British Nationalism continue to parrot the claim that the BNP is a “racist party.” This claim is most often repeated because the BNP unashamedly addresses itself to the issues and concerns of the indigenous British population, and because it seeks to ensure that British people remain the majority population in this country. Opponents point to the fact that the BNP has an all-white membership, and that we address issues concerning white people.
If the BNP is racist for holding this position, then, we would suggest, all of the following organisations – some of them state funded – are also “racist” because they too address themselves exclusively to the issues and concerns of their respective communities:

Have you noticed how the media NEVER calls any of these organisations “racist” even though they are openly organised along ethnic lines and stand for the rights of their respective communities?
It seems as if every group has the right to have an organisation speaking up for its rights – EXCEPT the indigenous British people.
In reality, none of these organisations are “racist” — each and every community has the inalienable right to look after its own interests.
This includes the indigenous British folk, and the BNP is proud to be the party which stands up for the rights our folk and country, in exactly the same way that all of the above organisations stand up for their folk.
The difference in the BNP and the groups you mention is that those groups don’t set themselves up in OPPOSITION to other ethnic groups. The BNP are “against” others, whereas those other groups are in “support” of their client group, and not against anyone.
That may seem like just semantics but it isn’t. It is a huge difference and why people give the BNP such a hard time. As an oppositional group you seek to deny others their rights. There is no problem with group that set out to support white people where that specific need is identified, (for example a group to support white children who attend majority ethnic schools). But unfortunately it seems the way that some white communities have seen to address their needs is by rallying in opposition of others, which is very reactionary. Understandable in some ways, but still reactionary.
It is a fair point you make about the perceived double standard in organisations which cater for specific ethnic groups, and white English need their voices heard. But the National Front and approach of the BNP hasn’t helped with allowing white English a strong sense of the their own identity without the racist stigma. The most obvious example is the stigma attached to the Union Jack and St George flags. By rights English people should be able to fly their flag without the accusation of being racist, but over generations the National Front and aggressive members of the BNP have taking this right away from liberal proud English white folk, and now ironically it’s the NF and BNP who say the flag is your right and isn’t racist. But the NF MADE it a racist symbol and that is very difficult to reverse in many people’s minds & hearts. White and non-white.
In an ideal world none of the groups you mention would need to exist as there would be no race politics and all groups would be equal and mix together. But the reason they exist is because they are not equal and extra support is needed in some areas, such as education for example. Some of the groups you mention are purely cultural and cater for cultural needs & references, such as jewish.co.uk.
It is a myth that all the non-indigenous English people who come and live here take all the best jobs and houses, etc, and asylum seekers live in condition you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. But like ex-pats from Britain who now live in France, Australia, etc, if someone can leave their homeland and make a good living in another country why be-grudge them that opportunity?
In the 50’s the Caribbean community were INVITED here to clean up the mess after the war to work in jobs that the English whites didn’t want. But that wasn’t told to the West Indian folk before they left home, they had to find out the hard way. Many of them, like the Asians who also came here, were highly skilled, but had to revert to manual labour once on these shores, and got treated no better than animals. Many of them also fought for this country in the WW2. The legacy of those times is what we are dealing with today with the 2nd and 3rd generations of those first immigrants, with no real sense of identity or belonging.
There are in fact white support groups ALL over Britain in EVERY corner of communities, but they are not identified as “white only” but that is who they cater for, not in an “exclusive”, oppositional or negative way. But in a “normal” way, which unfortunately doesn’t always feel inclusive for other ethnic groups, hence the need for them to set up their own organisations which have particular cultural understandings. Because it is seen as the norm, it doesn’t look or feel like white organisations as that identity isn’t the emphasis. But as the norm it becomes the status quo, and other voices aren’t heard, hence the need for groups such as those you mention, in some cases to re-address the balance (e.g. Operation Black Vote, Asians in Media). “White” support groups are in all areas of society and are all pervasive, but I must again stress and repeat myself that you won’t see them as white groups as you take them for granted as they are so normal. They are in all aspects of society: education, entertainment, labour, politics, law, religion, sex, conflict resolution and economics.
This isn’t a criticism, it is just normal. But no where stays the same forever, (just ask any of the indigenous peoples of the Commonwealth countries, or for that matter France, Australia, Ibiza or anywhere that British ex-pats live.) All over the world since the beginning of time countries have adapted to new peoples. Some get oppose it, and some others choose to carry on as normal. Just know though that it isn’t only the indigenous people that find they have to change. The new in-comers find they have to change also.
